India - A youth allegedly raped and tried to murder the wife of a bank manager here on Saturday. The woman was alone at her house when the incident took place. The accused, who has been hiding in the house, was arrested while the woman is admitted to hospital in a critical condition. "The bank manger is posted at Kanjor and he usually comes to Ajmer in the weekends. His children are also studying outside Ajmer. They had kept a doctor family as tenant but on Saturday they were also away," said a police officer. According to neighbours, they heard the screams of a woman after which they went inside the house and found her. "Blood was oozing from her head and her clothes were torn. She was unconscious and we called the police," said a neighbour. They locked the door from outside and waited for police to come. "Later we found the accused, Mohammed Ravi, hiding inside the house and we arrested him," said a police officer. The woman was taken to hospital where she is still unconscious.
